ABOUT US

ITA is a education based theatre company in San Clemente with a mission to create quality full scale theatrical productions with a focus on training. Students will work in a unique environment, learning from professionals dedicated to their education and personal growth. Providing a positive and professional environment with a philosophy of progress over perfection, each artist will take part in the specialized program with an opportunity to perform as a lead role in one cast grouping and also perform as an ensemble member in another cast grouping. This will ensure each student gains the benefits of being part of a group and having the chance to shine solo. With small cast sizes, a loving staff, and a professional based process students are set up to succeed in their performance art journey.

Opening a Theater has long been a dream of Nathan and his wife Crystal ever since they met and fell in love while working in a dinner theatre. KAREN BARRUS

We are so thrilled to have Karen at ITA! From a very young age Karen has loved musical theater and dance. She performed in numerous musicals and plays in high school and college, and she’s proud her experience extends beyond the stage to TV and film! She has been in over 30 commercials and infomercials on local and national TV.

Karen’s first love has always been musical theater which has inspired Karen to teach music and theatre to children for over 20 years. Karen is always so proud when her students achieve their greatest creative potential through the performing arts while having fun at the same time!
